The arrangement, plainly
Table Markings is an independent comparison website, and its income comes from affiliate agreements with some of the gambling operators we review. When you click a button such as "Visit Sky Vegas" and then open an account with that operator, the operator's tracking recognises the visit came from us and may pay us a commission — either a one-off fee, a share of the operator's revenue from your play, or a mix. You pay nothing extra; the commission comes out of the operator's marketing budget, not your pocket.
Which links are commercial
The primary buttons on operator cards and rows are affiliate links, and they carry tracking parameters plus a rel="sponsored" attribute in the page code. Offer mentions near those buttons are advertising and are labelled "Ad · 18+ · T&Cs apply". Links to the Gambling Commission, GamStop, GamCare, GambleAware, and between our own pages are not commercial and never will be.
What commissions cannot buy
- A score. Star ratings come from testing against the eight criteria listed on the homepage, set before commercial terms enter any conversation.
- A position. Order on the page follows the scores. An operator paying a higher rate does not move up.
- A kinder sentence. Reviews name weaknesses — you'll find catalogue gaps, cluttered lobbies and middling scores on the very page that earns us money.
- Silence. If an operator's terms worsen, the review changes, commission or not.
What we don't review, and why that matters here
We list only operators licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, and no operator owns any stake in this site. Not every operator we review has an affiliate agreement with us, and we don't remove a site from the comparison for declining one — the list is editorial, the funding follows it, never the reverse.
Your part of the bargain
Treat every offer we mention as a starting point, not a promise: operators change terms at their end, and the version on their site at the moment you sign up is the one that binds you. This site is for readers aged 18 and over, and no commission is worth more to us than the reminder that gambling is paid entertainment with a house edge — if it's stopped feeling that way, our responsible gambling page lists free help.
