Table Markings
About

The markings on the table tell you the rules

That's where the name comes from — and it's the whole editorial idea of this site.

Walk up to any card table and the printed markings tell you what's allowed before you sit down: where the bets go, what the dealer must do, what the limits are. Online casinos have the same rules, but they're spread across licence registers, bonus terms and help pages that most people understandably never read. Table Markings exists to do that reading and lay the results out flat.

What this site is

An independent comparison and review site covering online casinos licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. We are not a casino, a bookmaker or a regulator. We hold no gambling licence because we do nothing that needs one: no games run here, no bets are taken, and no player money ever passes through this site. Every account, deposit and game round happens with the operator — we only describe and compare what they offer. No operator owns any part of this site, and none sees a word we write before it's published.

How we're funded

Affiliate commissions, in full. When a visitor follows one of our buttons and opens an account, the operator may pay us a fee. That model keeps the site free to read, and it creates an obvious conflict of interest, which we manage the only way that works: the people testing sites don't know which operator pays what, scores are set against the eight published criteria before any commercial arrangement is discussed, and low scores stay published. Two of the five operators currently on our list sit at or below three and a half stars, which is not what a brochure would print. The mechanics are spelled out on the affiliate disclosure page.

How the reviews get made

Each operator gets the same routine: register an account, browse the whole lobby rather than the promoted shelf, run the mobile app or site through a normal evening's use, put a genuine question to customer support, and read the welcome offer terms line by line. Scores follow from notes taken during that process. We revisit the offer terms monthly, because operators amend them quietly, and we re-check licences against the Commission's public register rather than trusting footer badges.

What we won't publish

  • Guarantees of winning, "risk-free" framing, or gambling presented as income. The house edge is real and we say so on every relevant page.
  • Invented statistics, fake testimonials or reviews of sites we haven't used.
  • Content aimed at anyone under 18 or at readers outside Great Britain, where these licences don't apply.
  • Payment, deposit or withdrawal advice — we're a reviews site, and money handling belongs between you and the operator.

Corrections

Operators change offers, apps get rebuilt, and sometimes we're simply wrong. If you spot something out of date or inaccurate, the contact page reaches us directly, and factual corrections get made quickly and without fuss.
